Pesky subconscious
Yesterday I felt extremely grateful for the luck I've been having in my job search. I felt that a lot of things were falling into place since I'd moved to California. I thanked God for my good fortune.

Then, I went to sleep and had nightmares.

I dreamed that I was part of a demon-hunting squad. We entered a grand, old office building. I saw that a demon was residing in one of the panes of the mullioned windows. It was a female demon. I could just make out its transparent form in the glass. I shattered that pane and the demon took flight.

I left the building. My phone and answering machine were sitting in the middle of the street. The demon had entered my answering machine and was leaving me messages. "You're stupid." "Everybody hates you." She left me message after message. I watched the message count on the machine go rocketing up: 500, 1000, 3000.

A lot more happened after that. There was another demon, a male demon. Buffy and Giles appeared in time to save the day.

Anyway, the meaning of the "messages from the demon" seems pretty obvious to me.

Geez, Subconscious -- subtle, much?
