And yet more surprising job-hunt craziness.
Went back to the multi-culti web marketing place for my second interview. Talked with two sleek women who were surprisingly warm and friendly -- well, that's "surprisingly" because I put every woman with perfect hair and makeup in the "can't possibly be friends with" category.
This is the place that had given me the IQ-like test. They appealed to my ego by telling me that I had scored very high (I'd asked for my score and googled the test, and, um, yeah, that's true). They told me that I was one of the top two applicants they were considering for this position. Holy moley!
Yesterday, the lovely nonprofit had told me...shoot, many lovely things as well (that's the job I'm still afraid of jinxing).
Today, I also interviewed at the funky bookstore and...gosh, the hip, laidback owner took me to a cafe for tea, and we talked about books and movies, and I saw the office and it would be my own box-crowded, bay-windowed little kingdom (with book discounts!). At the end of the interview, he, too, told me that I was one of the three or four people he'd seriously consider for this position.
I...I...I...am dumbfounded.
I keep reminding myself that it's entirely possible that none of them will offer me a job.
However, if I have to choose...it's REALLY going to be hard.
