A new journal for a new home.
May, 2005
Moved to San Francisco 8 months ago. Found a gorgeous tiny studio in an old Victorian, pre-Great Quake. My home is bathed in honey light all day long and is hard to leave. I ride BART and MUNI, I walk, I see movies, I volunteer at the SPCA Adoption Center -- with the kitties. I work part-time, as a temp. I send out resumes, and hear nothing back. I look at the houses climbing up the flanks of the green hills and feel blessed and happy.
I tried this Livejournal thing once before. LJ, it didn't work out for us, but it was me, not you. I will ease slowly back into this. It will take me a while to find my voice. I enjoy reading well-written journals with a healthy dollop of self-deprecation. I like stories. I am not fond of memes and link-heavy posts, but I can see why others might like them.
I can be unremittingly earnest. I gaze at my navel. When I am comfortable, I can be the funniest person you've ever met. But...
it can take me a long while to get comfortable, even online.
Most of my posts are friends-only.
